My thoughts on local transportation

In my opinion the local transportation needs some work. People around here take buses and cabs to work, home, stores, etc. As far as I’m concerned, there will always be a need for public transit. I will be focusing on two methods that I find could use some adjustments. These two methods are buses and taxis.

The local bus system seems easy enough during the day. The operators are very helpful as well. The only problem that I can see is that the busses slow down after 7pm. This makes it more difficult for people coming back from work or anywhere else. This could have people waiting at the bus stop for a lot longer. In the summer it’s not so bad but you still want to get somewhere and not wait too long. During the winter is another story. I have never taken a bus in the winter but I know that I don’t like to wait outside for too long.

I don’t take a taxi very often. One of the major reasons is the price. It cost me about $40 to get across town. Watching that meter go up makes me feel like my life is slowly draining. The way I see it is that its theft. It costs way too much money to get anywhere. The only reason that I took the cab is because the buses were not running.
