England: Final days

We had gone to Keighley for a couple of days. There is where I had met about over eighty of my distant cousins. They were all very nice and I was glad to finally meet them. My dad's aunt had her birthday party. Since we had a lot of relatives over her her backyard was packed.

After the party some of us had taken a cab to one of the local pubs. The place was small so we all had taken up a large portion. We all ended up dancing and singing to music. One of the songs was "Born To Be Wild". The funny thing is that all our last names were "Wild"!

In the mourning we said our goodbyes and left for the train. This has been a very eventful trip. It is going to be a long day of traveling before I get home. As much as I love it up here I am excited to soon be back home!

England: Day 7

Mourning
Yesterday mourning I had slept in a bit. The weather right now is amazing up here! The days seem to be blending in now. As much as I love it up here I am excited to be heading back home soon. I am physically exhausted and look forward to sleep in my own bed.
Night
Last night was our final chance to go to a pub. The place we had gone to was a lot busier than the night before. Every time I wake up I find it very confusing when I look at the time. Right now my tablet says that its 5:33am. Which back at home I would most likely be asleep.

England: Day 6

Mourning to afternoon
This mourning I had woke up with a bit of a hangover. Since I couldn't fall back asleep I wrote my blog entry for yesterday's activities. After that my dad, his uncle and I left to buy groceries for tonight. They left me at this really good fish and chips diner. It has been a very slow day so far.
Night
I had gone for another pub crawl that night. The atmosphere of the pubs is different then back home. Most of the place here seem to be a bit more social. Also, there are a lot more spots to sit down and have a drink. After all this time going to pubs with my cousins is going to make me very tired when I arrive back home.

England: Day 5

Mourning to mid-evening

Our day started off by going to Bolton Abbey. Most of the cathedral had been striped away but what had remained stayed strong. The actual church was still intact. From afar you can see how large the cathedral is. Outside the ruins there were ancient graves dating as far back as the 1800s. Some of the gravestone's words were still legible. The surrounding area was all rolling hills ad plains. It was a very beautiful location.

Evening

We all had dinner at my aunt's house and then left for a local pub. It was small with a few people in it. Most of them were my relatives. We had a couple drinks there and then headed for the next pub. My dad and uncles had left so it was my sisters, cousins, and me left. After a couple more drinks there we called it a night. I have no idea what's in store for me today but I'm excited to find out!

Putting ability into disability

My first intention with this blog was to make people more aware that others with disabilities have a lot of capabilities. I for one don't let my disability stop me from doing what I want to do. Some people may see it as a weakness but I see it as a strength. Overcoming my disability has made me a stronger person. There are a lot of tasks that are more difficult for me to complete. Some of these difficult tasks are what other people may take for granted. For example, drinking out of a cup. My hands shake a lot so when I pick up a glass it sometimes spills a bit.

Being less able in one category makes me more in another. I feel that I have a better understanding of people. With that being said I think that a career with psychology is the path for me to take. So instead of focusing on my weaknesses I have decided to increase my strengths. Hopefully by doing this I can have a better outlook on my life and work on doing more to enjoy it.

England: Day 4

Mourning to afternoon
This mourning we woke up and booked out of the hotel. We then proceeded to take the subway to the train station. I have never been on a train before. The view out here is incredible! The interior of the cabins are very spacious and comfortable. The temperature in our car was too hot so we had moved forward to another one.
There is a lot of farmland up here. Green and yellow fields cover the surrounding area. Every once in a while we roll through a small town. I love the old-fashioned architecture. It makes me feel like I've traveled to the past.
Afternoon to evening
We arrived at the house which is owned by the son of my grandfather's brother. He has a very nice home with a great view of the area. Most of it looks like it is used as farmland. From my window I can see enormous hills in the distance.
Night
For dinner we had all gone to one of my family members house. This is where I met a lot of the "Wilds". They were all a very upbeat bunch. It was a very loud and hilarious meal! After our meal we had piled into the living room to talk about past stories, drinking and pubs. I think that tomorrow night well be a WILD one!

London: Day 3

Mourning to afternoon
First stop we had gone to in the mourning was the Buckingham Palace. Since it was early we were able to catch the rotation of the guards. This was a sight to see! There was about three waves of guards that marched in. Each group had been very well organized and had worn different style uniforms. The second wave of guards were well armed with assault rifles at hand. While we stood outside and watched the guards, the temperature seemed to rise. After the event we headed back to the hotel to rest.
Afternoon to evening
My dad and I had gone to the London Eye. This is a huge ferris wheel type structure with large booths. Each booth had a 360 degree view of London. It had taken about half an hour to complete to circuit. As for the height, it was high enough to see far across the city. When we were almost at the end we realized that we were not moving. Five minutes later an announcement had came on that there was a mechanical error. Also, they said that we had to spread ourselves out to even the weight. Ten minutes later we were moving again. When back at the hotel we got drinks and prepared to head out for dinner.
Night
We headed out to a local pub for dinner and drinks. I had a steak with a pint of cider. The meal was very good. My cousin and her husband had joined us. After we had walked down to Abbey Road. We all took a picture of us walking across the same road the Beatles had. I thought that it was amazing to know that the Beatles was there years back. Then we had walked over to a shop to grab some ice cream. This had been a great day for exploring the London area.

England: Day 2

Mourning to afternoon
This mourning we got up and headed out to look around London. As we walked around London I noticed a cell phone store so I decided to check it out. The deals in England seem to be a lot better than the ones in Canada. There are data plans for under 30£. I wish I could get a deal like that for my plan. After that we had gone to McDonalds. It was a very different layout of store. There was a few tables when you walked in and then there were stairs leading to another floor. Down here there were more tables and the two bathrooms.
The shopping was a little overwhelming. My sisters had done most of it. We had gone to store after store to look at clothing for them. At the end of that my back was killing me. We took a cab after that back to the hotel. The cabs up here are very different. Inside the cab there are two or three seats in the back and then two more seats that fold down in front of them.
Afternoon to evening
We had dinner and drinks after sitting down for a bit. I had a burger and chips with a cider. This has been a very exhausting day of exploring London. Right now I'm just going to lay back and watch tv. It has been an exhausting day of exploring London. I hope to find a beer mug to buy for a souvenir.

England: Day 1

The flight to London, England took about six and a half hours. During this flight I was able to relax and fit two movies in. I had watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Both movies, in my opinion, had been worth watching. The food was a different story. The flight attendant said that it was chicken but it did not taste that way.

After arriving in London, we (my dad and two sisters) spent about an hour going through customs. The irony was that we were in the express lane and the normal lane seemed to go through much more quickly. Once we were able to get out of the airport we had taken two subways and walked fifteen minutes to the hotel. There are a lot of differences between where I'm from and England. One of the major differences is the architecture. Most of the buildings that I've seen have an older style to them.

The hotel is very nice and has a luxurious feel to it. The room has three beds and one tv. We are only staying in the hotel for a couple of days so it is a good size. You can see a lot of the city from the window. The only con that I can think about is that the subway tracks are too close. Anyways, going to bed!

Distraction goals

Sometimes you need a task to do to take your mind off something. This is where distraction goals come in. Distraction goals are specified tasks to either keep you busy or from thinking about something that bothers you. One idea of a task could be a hobby. Hobbies could be something your good at or like to do. These work if you have an upsetting thought in the back of your head. By focusing your thoughts on something else the other thought will begin to feel less upsetting. If you do this enough you will be able to build the strength to diminish that certain thought that upsets you.

This is how I got rid of my problems. I made goals for myself and now I'm working on completing them. I, like everybody else, have issues to deal with. By keeping myself distracted with writing for my blog I am less agitated by my current issues. Why don't you try making a distraction goal for yourself! You never know, this goal could make you a stronger person. I know mine has!

My thoughts on Google Adsense

I like having Google Adsense attached to my blog. This way I can work on my writing and be eligible to earn a passive income. Once the ads are running on the site Google will pay you for every time someone clicks on them. The amount you get payed varies. Right now one person has clicked on one of the ads on my site and has earned me $0.86. This may seem like a small amount but the more people that visit your site the more likely they are to click on an ad. As your site becomes more well-known you will potentially have more licks and earn more money. This also helps out other businesses by having ads that link to their websites.

Taking advantage of your disability

Just because you have a disability does not mean that you are unable. Being disabled gives you the knowledge on how to cope and adapt to deal with your environment. For example, if you are in a wheelchair you eventually adapt to your lack of reach. You may set your items lower or use an extended reach tool. Another example would be if you have trouble holding something steady. For some people with disabilities it can be difficult to hold something like a glass of water. For this situation it depends on the person and the condition of the arm and hand. Since I have tremors in my hands I fill my cup up half way and as I pick up the glass I would bring my head down. This would help minimize the space between my mouth and the cup.

There are other ways to take advantage of your disability. What I would like to do is help people cope with their disabilities and limitations. My experience allows me to relate to other disabled people. I would also like to prevent people from developing some sort of social anxiety. This can happen when the feeling of "sticking out" arises. The person would feel eyes on them and begin to get anxious. If they can change their outlook on themselves they can more easily enter a social environment. With a better social life a person with a disability can have a greater view of themselves.

Learning disabilities

There are many types of learning disabilities. I have ADD which stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. I have sometimes have trouble reading large amounts of text. Sometimes I find myself accidentally skipping over a few sentences. I also have difficulty paying attention for a long period of time. If I don't find it the least bit interesting my mind begins to wander somewhere else. I am beginning to think that the educational scene is not for me.

I find that I learn a lot more studying at my own pace. Back in grade school I was able to write a full page explaining the difference between cell phones and pdas. Which at the time were two separate devices. The information that I had used to write this paper I had remembered from studying the devices before. I was and still to this day, very interested in technology and its exponential growth as the years go on.

With all this being said there are a lot of ways for people with learning disabilities to learn. It takes more patience, motivation and a topic you are interested in. Find something you like to do. It could be a hobby or some sort of routine. Once you figure out what you lime to do the learning will come a lot easier. Plus, once you learn about what you like to do it will be more rewarding in the end!

My thoughts on on-line dating

Having this disability sometimes makes me self-aware. So I had tried a dating website. I am here to convince you NOT sign up for one of these sites. Most of the woman that I have met have problems. Some more than others. Here is an example: This woman I had messaged on the site started to message me back. Then we started texting each other. Finally I had her over at my place. During this time she talked more to my buddy (who was there at the time) than me. When he left the woman and I continued talking until she left.

Now here is where it gets interesting. She texts me in the afternoon saying that my buddy texted her begging for sex and that he ruined it for me. I was angry with him until I heard the actual story of what happened. It turns out that she was texting him explicit things and because he was drunk he did so too. When he turned her down she became angry with me. Therefore, sending me that text. Which now I see as more of a wakeup call. This brought one thing to my mind, "what the @#&% was I thinking?".

There are a lot of women out there. My advice to you is to not look for them online. Most of them have too many issues to count. It is not worth the time or effort. Do yourself a favor an meet people in real life. Therefore you can have a better outlook on the person who you are meeting.
